Company Description

We have built something special at Three: an in-house agency that is re-energising the brand and is taking our marketing effort to new heights.

The agency’s remit extends beyond comms channels to our web and app platforms, and we need an experienced copywriter with specialist digital experience to join our team.

This role is one of five content copywriters who sit within the creative team of Generation (Three’s in-house agency), with a dedicated line manager. Day-to-day responsibilities will be carried out within scrum teams. This means collaborating not only with our digital designers, but also with colleagues from UX, development and other digital disciplines. The right candidate will be a high quality practitioner who can provide expert copywriting inputs to the scrum team and produce long and short-form copy which is fluent, enticing and faithful to the brand’s Tone of Voice.

Job Description

  • Create the conditions for the success of the in-house agency. Deliver against our creative ambitions for the brand, by working to the In-House Agency’s plan for how this will be achieved. Use your specialist digital knowledge and experience, your copywriting abilities and your personality to contribute to the IHA team’s goals. Be pro-active at all times: bring energy, share ideas and help make this a team that talented people want to be a part of.
  • Deliver high quality work. Deliver brand-enhancing copy across all our web and app interfaces, including headlines, body copy, error messages and calls to action. Respond to all briefs with care and apply existing Tone of Voice guidelines diligently to ensure work is ‘right first time’. Present work and, where required, construct rationales for the approach you have taken. Be proactive and fully accountable for your deliverables and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues: take direction but also be prepared to give it. You will be guided, mentored and directed by your line manager in the copywriting team. However, you will spend much of your time working autonomously with colleagues of different levels as part of project-focused scrum teams. You will take direction well from both your line manager and scrum team leaders, but you will also be the voice of copy within your scrum teams: using your expertise and experience to ensure copy plays a key role in articulating the brand faithfully. It is therefore important to be a good communicator who can express their needs and ideas clearly.
  • Demonstrate digital leadership within the IHA team and its internal customers. Build strong relationships with the rest of the Generation team, as well as with marketing and other roles that brief Generation. “Lead from the middle” by helping your colleagues in Generation

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a digital copywriter role for leading brands
  • A passion for working with an Agile mindset and extensive experience of collaborating as part of Scrum teams
  • A proven track record of delivering distinctive copy for web and app platforms in these teams

Additional Information

  • The salary range for this role starts at £37,200, the exact salary will differ by job and experience
  • A performance based annual bonus & an additional 'flexible allowance' to spend on additional benefits, topping up your pension, or to be added to your salary.
  • Hybrid working between your home (2-3 days a week) and our brand new Reading HQ office at Green Park (2-3 days a week)
  • 28 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays + 3 personal days annually, which increases with length of service.
  • Private Medical Insurance, Life Assurance and Income Protection.
  • Free mobile phone package & unlimited sim-card
  • Free on-site car parking
  • Plus lots more including wellbeing and learning & development benefits!

Our people make us who we are. We’re a diverse and inclusive bunch, and it’s important you can feel you belong here. We value everybody for who they are and what they bring to the table, supporting one another as we continue to deliver for our customers.

At Three we have a hybrid working arrangement in place as standard for office based employees, where employees work from a mix of office based location and working from their home in the UK to carry on their role.

Excluding retail, core hours at Three are between 10:00 and 16:00, with operating hours between 08:00 & 18:30. This allows employees to have a start time between 08:00 and 10:00 and finish time between 16:00 and 18:30.
